Walking with God in your experience

Psalms  84:4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.  84:5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.  84:6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.  84:7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

One of the deception that we allowed in our walk as believers is the fact that we make people to believe that once you give your heart to Jesus every issue and challenges will suddenly disappear and you won’t have issues again as you journey on this side of eternity.  As a matter of fact the moment any believer experiences set backs or problems we come to the conclusion that he or she must have commited sin or perhaps backslidded.  We tend to attributes problems and challenges in bthe life of a believer in Christ Jesus to be synonym with sin or probably lack of faith.

There are two faces to Christianity;  we accept one and deny the existence of the other.  Philippians  3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; We agreed with the power of His resurrection and deny the existence of the fellowship of His suffering.  As a matter of fact most preachers have thrown away the preaching of the Cross and lay so much emphasis on teachings and preaching that seem to portray God as a father Christmas.

We will go through stuffs that will often time be at variance with our believe system,  no wonder someone said “Never change your belief system to accommodate a tragedy”.What God expects of us in such a situation is simply to walk with God in that experience or situation.  It’s your attitude in that will determine the final outcome. The great Apostle Paul prayed and fasted over a challenge and God simply told Him in 2 Corinthians  12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me

So no matter what you might be going through,  you need to learn how to walk with God in your experience. You must not allow your experience to determine your believe system.  Don’t use your experience to interpret the word of God but rather use the word to interpret your experience.

Be Consistent

Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot

The Christian race is not a 100m dash that you can simply run and get to the finish line in a record time depending on how well you have practiced, it’s rather like a marathon with a lot of detours on the way some of which will keep you on track while some have the ability to take you away from the path that God has designed for you.

It’s a race that often time takes you to unknown terrains that you never thought exists. It’s a race that often time there are tendencies for you to get discouraged. The Character in the focal scripture, said something that is actually the key to our been able to conclude the race. He spoke of his resolve to be Consistent in his relationship with God irrespective of whatever detours or challenges he might come across on the prigrimage .

Our consistency in our relationship with God is the key and the only way you can successfully trod the journey and come out victorious. Today we have a crop of believers that are been spoon-fed so much that they depend on their pastors, prophets for everything and as such when faced with certain detours ( challenges) they find it so easy to blame their pastors and also throw in the towel. And in some cases move to another church or pastor/prophet.

The 3 Hebrew boys echoed what Job said Daniel 3:17-18 “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

Consistency in the place of prayer, consistency in the pursuit of your purpose irrespective of the picture the enemy is showing you, consistency in the kingdom business no matter on which side of the bed you woke up in the morning; is what you need to be able to come out victorious in this marathon.

Have a great week

Tested Okay

God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find REFUGE! You’re a proven help in time of trouble
more than enough and always available whenever I need you. PSALM 46:1(THE PASSION TRANSLATION)

When you go to buy a gadget especially those electronics, in order for you to be certain of what you are buying you will always ask the vendor to test it for you just to be sure that you are going to get value for what you are buying. Once it’s tested and its okay, if peradventure you get to your house and in the process of using the gadget it suddenly stopped working, you will definitely find it difficult to return it to the vendor that sold it to you simply because it was tested before you paid for it.

The scripture above iterated the truth that our God is a “provened help in the time of trouble”. This means that no matter what you might be going through in life, irrespective of the magnitude of the project you want to embark on. No matter how terrible the sicknessi might be, it does not matter how messy that situation may look or seemed to be. Our God is a proven specialist in handling them and can change the tide to your advantage.

The Holy Writ is a compendium of the interventions of God in the cases of people. There is absolutely nothing that you are going through that God has not proven His ability to deal with. No wonder Hebrew said He is the same yesterday, today and forever If God can help Richard to finish his project, then He can help you. If He opened the womb of Hannah, He can do same for you. If He healed Naaman of an incurable disease then your cancerous infirmity is too small for Him to handle. If He could bail the wife of the prophet from debt, then the millions that you are owin can be sorted out today. If God can cover the nakedness of Ruth so what make you thing He can’t do the same for you.

This morning child of God I want you to raise your head high knowing that we serve a God who has proven His mettle over and over again. No wonder the slogan What God cannot do, does not exist. He is well and able to do beyond your expectation if only we can put our absolute trust in Him.

Why not present that case to Him. Tell Him the challenges you are facing in the ministry, tell Him about your children ineptitude towards the things of God, talk to Him about that fibroid, present the cancer issue to Him today. Talk to Him about that project, ask Him for help concerning your debt portfolio.

I see God showing up for you this morning, I see Heaven intervening in that situation. I see you singing your song and dancing your dance this morning in the name of Jesus.

God morning

Change the Narative

1 SAMUEL 17:45 David answered, “You come at me with sword and spear and battle-ax. I come at you in the name of GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel’s troops, whom you curse and mock. – ( The Message Translation).

1 Samuel 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. ( Kjv Translation)

Often time we tend to forget the truth that without God we are nothing, especially in this generation where the enemy seemed to have been able to provide convenient alternatives to certain aspect of our lives. We believe so much in what our intellect, connections etc especially when we now have an avalanche of motivational speakers around us. As a matter of fact motivational and entrepreneural teaching have taking the fore even in the church on Sunday morning. And that explain why we fnd it difficult not to look for an alternative once challenges that are beyond our intellectual capacity shows up; we are quick to throw in the towel not because we don’t believe in God but our spiritual capacity is zero.

Life is a place of warfare and not a place of funfare so I once heard from Pastor Mojibayo Akinjiyan. This depict exactly the attitude every believer should have when confronted with any challenge. You live prepared and not getting prepared. A major key to winning in life is the knowledge of who is backing you in the face of any challenge in life, a realisation that will determine if you will win or burst in the face of ugly situations. From our focal scripture all David needed to do is to change the Narrative based on his knowledge of WHO God is. He made Goliath to understand that this battle is not mine but rather it is God’s. Goliath its not me that you have come to challenge :it’s the God of Heaven that you have come to challenge. He transfered the ownership of the battle to God. Mind you he was able to do this because of his experiential knowledge of the person and ability of God.

Confront the challenge with the knowledge of God that you have. Be offensive and defensive. Battle and challenges shouldn’t define or dictate your response to life. To walk in dominion means you are the one that determines what happens in your space.Take charge let the devil and that challenge or situation know that you are only an instrument of war in the hand of God

Good morning

The Oath Keeper

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

The difference between praise and worship is not the tempo of the song that we sang but rather the content of the song. Praise addresses His deeds while worship refers to His person or personality or what you can also term as His attributes.

One of the attributes of God is the fact that He is a covenant keeping God. Thats why He told us in His word that He does not change. He does not go back on His word , once He says it He will watch that word to performance. No wonder scriptures make us to understand that a man that does not offend in words then he is a good person James1:26.Every word spoken by God puts His integrity at stake and He will also ensure that His word becomes flesh( manifested).

The death of Jesus on the cross at calvary is a physical re-enactment of an incidence that already occured before the foundatioj of the earth. No wonder John 3:16 said He gave long before Jesus went to the cross.

Our God is a covenant keeping God and anyone that want to really walk with God must be ready to also be a covenant keeper. God hates does that conveniently break their oaths and agreement either to God or to man. Don’t make a oath or promise that you dont have intention of keeping either to God or to your fellow man.

The purpose of this missive this morning is to bring to our consciousness that if God kept His word concerning the cross; then there is absolutely nothing that He promised you that wont be fulfilled because He is an oath keeper.

Hold on to His word no matter the pictures the enemy might be showing you. God has never failed anyone before and your case wont be an exception.

Happy good friday

The Secret Place

Text: Psalm 61:1-3, Isaiah 30:15, Gen 3:8, Amos 3:3

Psalms 61:1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 61:3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. 61:4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

Isaiah 30:15 For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

Amos 3:3
[3]Do two walk together except they make an appointment and have agreed?

There is a popular saying that the secret of your success is your success in secret. I once worked in an establishment where we ensured that every Monday no matter the urgency of the task ahead , no matter how busy your schedule might be, as the head of a department you must attend the Monday management meeting.

Its at that meeting that we analyse the activities of the previous week and strategize for the new week. Ideas and brainstorming is carried out in that meeting and by the time we leave the meeting you don’t have an excuse for not having success in your assignments for that week.

That’s a secular system , we as believers need to have such a time, such a place where we have such meeting with the Spirit of God. Some call it retreat but whatever the name you give it , you need to have a routine whereby together you and Him can do proper appraisal of your assignment goals and your life in totality. He created you, gave you the assignment and as such there should constant communication between both of you. Your effectiveness and success is dependent on the frequency of that tet a tet that have with Him.

You are not a super human and such if you don’t want to burn out or loose your effectiveness, you need to maintain your presence in the secret place . Keep regular appointment with Him. Its a place and time where the real you is open to your maker.

May the Lord grant you quick understanding in Jesus name

The Carrier of Grace

Matthew 12:3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; 12:4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

A Ship is a vessel used in conveying goods or human cargo from a point or location to a particular destination. It has the ability to convey you to your desired destination or totally away from it. One of the most powerful “Ship” a man can be involved with is ” Relationship “.

Its so powerful that a lot of men and women of destiny are in the fulfilment of their purposes while some have had course to be shipwrecked on their pilgrimage by virtue of the kind of relationships they got themselves involved on the road to fulfilling purpose.

When you come on contact with an individual who is a carrier of grace and you are in a relationship with him or her the tendency for that grace to rub on you and provide you with the right leverage that you needed is there, but it now behooves you to either maximize it or not.

David had the privilege of been allowed to eat of the bread dedicated for the priest and everyone that was with him too were accorded that privilege not because they were qualified but because they were with David. Recalled that this men were categorised as ” worthless “- 1 Samuel 22:2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men. But because they were with a man that carried an unusual grace of mercy, they became qualified to eat of the bread meant for the priest.

On your destiny walk, on the route to you fulfilling your purpose there are certain things that you will required and God has engraced certain personalities who by virtue of certain experiences and encounter with God are like custodian of what you need and all you have to do is to seek them out and relate with them in whatever capacity God will instruct you.

Rev Sam Adeyemi said he gave himself to reading Bishop Oyedepo’s books. Bishop Oyedepo was instructed by God to go meet the late Archbishop Idahosa. Pastor E.A Adeboye went to USA to meet with Rev Kenneth E Hagin. Dr Odukoya will always speak of Apostle Joseph Ago Babalola. And there is no “great” man of God in Nigeria of the Pentecostal movements of the late 60s to early 70s who will not make reference to Pa Elton in Ilesha.

You will see further if you are standing on the shoulder of another . Someone has been engraced with that which you need to move forward why not ask God to show you and direct your path this morning.

You are unstoppable my friend and destiny awaits you

Good morning

Spiritual Yet Humane

Matthew 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

How shall we begin to speak about the God that we can never fully comprehend? The healer and the wounded one; the lion and the lamb or is it the mystery of His holiness and the wonder of His humaness( if, there is any word like, that) .

This attribute of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who is our perfect example is what is lacking in the body of Christ today. Joseph was a righteous man and yet he wasn’t going to throw away Mary to the dogs, he wasn’t going to throw her under the wheel though was thinking of dissociating himself from her in such a way that she won’t go through shame. He was righteous but also humane. An attribute any genuine leader must possess in order to be able to lead those he has been assigned to.

An army is as strong as it’s weakest link, meanwhile God expect us to strengthen the weak and feeble knees and not throw them to the dogs . Isaiah 35:3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Today we are quick in making conclusions concerning a brother going through challenges based on our perceived or assumed reasons for his challenges rather than getting to truly know what he is actually going through . Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

The world does not need you telling them or making them feel you are more spiritual than them rather let them know that it was grace and mercy that found you. ” if all I hear from you is your success story and not challenges, if you have never failed nor have challenges before then you will only intimidate me and not inspire me”- Bishop T. D Jakes.

I need to know that as my leader you can associate with my struggles not only my successes. You are not a leader if you have never commend “good works” but you are quick in condemning me for my short comings. Beloved; many are hurting because we have only presented an aspect of the attribute of our saviour to them and as a result they do not believe there is hope of redemption for them. Remember Jesus had wounds and yet fulfil purpose.

May the Lord grant you quick understanding in Jesus name.

Good morning
